Use the SavedSearchHook installer to make your Wave easier to find

The “Saved Searches” option is one of the most famous features from the Google Wave. You can use this option to check for the same search later. You can click on the “Save Search” at the bottom of the search panel, specify a title and then you can have the search results in your nav panel as a link. Moreover, it any wave matches the search query according to the result in the Search Panel, it will be labeled with saved search terms. Usually, most of the users don’t know about this feature and they search for a lot of things. Now, you can keep tracking of waves for particular Google groups (e.g. ""), waves with particular tags (e.g. "tag:wavedevfaq").

Moreover, users want the extensions to save those searches automatically. Now, there is an extension installer is available to specify saved searches to be automatically added to the user’s nav panel. The name of the extension installer is SavedSearchHook.

An extension installer is a package consisting of one or more of the following parts:
•    Extension metadata, which describes information about the extension including what it does, who created it and the current version.
•    One or more hooks that describe how the extension interfaces with the client.
•    Actions, which declare what happens when a hook is triggered, such as inserting gadgets or adding participants and robots.
You reference an extension installer through a special XML file, called the Extension Manifest. You can add this extension manifest directly within the Wave client to an existing or new wave, where it behaves according to the extension's defined hooks and actions.

By using the installer XML, Google I/O extension adds a saved search to make it easy for finding all of the conference waves.

New Micro battery, power packed for high performance

For a size of a few millimetres, the new micro-batteries are powerful enough to jump start a car battery and then quickly charge the cell phone. Researchers from the University of Illinois have developed the micro batteries which can be used to drive compact electronic devices and new applications for radio communications. The micro batteries are so good that they can even out power the super capacitors. The results were published in ‘Nature Communications’ in the April 16 issue. The micro batteries have energy and power and with the researchers tweaking the structure of the micro batteries a little bit, its use can be for wide range applications. The high performance of the micro battery is based on its 3-dimensional micro-structure. Based on the design of fast charging cathode by Professor Paul Braun’s group, researchers developed the matching anode and integrated it with the fast charging cathode at a micro-scale and made a complete battery with high performance. These batteries cou
