In this article, let’s discuss about turning the public folder sharing ON and OFF.
By default, the Public folder sharing will be turned OFF except on a homegroup. If the Public folder sharing is turned ON, anyone on your network will be able to access these folders. If the folder is turned OFF, only the people with a user account and password on your computer will have access.
1. Now, it is required to open Advanced Sharing settings by clicking on the start button and selecting Control Panel.
2. Then, in the search box, it is required to type network and click Network and Sharing Center.
3. After that, click Change advanced sharing settings on the left pane.
4. It is required to click the chevron to expand the current network profile.
5. Then, you can select any of the following options under Public folder sharing.
o Turn on sharing so anyone with network access can read and write files in the Public folders
o Turn off Public folder sharing (people logged on to this computer can still access these folders)
6. Click Save changes. If you're prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

Important Notes

• If you give permission to change files, any changes they make will change the files on your computer.
• You can see Advanced sharing settings by clicking on a Public folder or its contents.
• Now, you can turn the public folder sharing ON or OFF.
Now, let’s discuss about turning the password protected sharing ON or OFF.
If you wish to limit Public folder access to the people with a user account and password on the computer, you can turn ON password protected sharing in the control panel. Remember that this option will not be available on a domain.

For example, if you attempt to share an entire drive such as drive C on your computer (sometimes referred to as the root of a drive), or system folders (including the Users and Windows folders). If you wish to share these locations, you must use Advanced sharing instead. In general, Windows doesn’t recommend sharing the entire drive or Windows System folders.

4. Then, select the Share this folder check box in the Advanced Sharing dialog box.
5. Now, click Permissions to specify the permissions for the users.
6. After that, click Add or Remove to add or remove the users or groups.
7. Then, select each user or group to the check boxes for the permission you want to assign for that user or group.
8. Now, click OK and OK.
9. Make sure that you can’s share the root of a drive with a dollar sign following the drive letter as in versions of Windows earlier than Windows Vista. For example, you can’t share the root of your C drive as "C$," but you can share it as "C" or any other name.

New Micro battery, power packed for high performance

For a size of a few millimetres, the new micro-batteries are powerful enough to jump start a car battery and then quickly charge the cell phone. Researchers from the University of Illinois have developed the micro batteries which can be used to drive compact electronic devices and new applications for radio communications. The micro batteries are so good that they can even out power the super capacitors. The results were published in ‘Nature Communications’ in the April 16 issue. The micro batteries have energy and power and with the researchers tweaking the structure of the micro batteries a little bit, its use can be for wide range applications. The high performance of the micro battery is based on its 3-dimensional micro-structure. Based on the design of fast charging cathode by Professor Paul Braun’s group, researchers developed the matching anode and integrated it with the fast charging cathode at a micro-scale and made a complete battery with high performance. These batteries cou
