Smart phone with 8 MP camera costing under Rs 15,000




One cannot think of buying a smart phone without a good resolution camera.  This feature is being discarded by the companies lately.  There are hardly few phones left with high power cameras reachable for the average customer.  Some of the smart options falling in this range are, “LG Optimus L7 II” dual processor, is priced at 14,990 with 8 MP camera and loaded with advanced features.  The second one is the “Micromax Canvas HD” though slightly disappointing has an 8 MP camera with iOS Jelly Bean.  It is priced at 14,500.  Though the phone is average, it supports a high end performance lens.  The third best option is “Lenovo S720” with dual SIM and 8MP camera has a price tag of 14,500.  Though, below average in performance with iOS Ice Cream Sandwich, it has a camera with flash. 


The fourth is “Huawei U8860 Honor” with very reasonable cost of Rs 13,000 has 8 MP camera, high storage capacity but with low performance.  The camera comes with LED flash.    The fifth is the “Lava Xolo X900” priced at Rs 13,000 with Gingerbread and “Lava Xolo A1000” with the same price having OGS technology.  The least priced with 8 MP camera are “Karbonn S5 Titanium” priced at Rs 11,990 and “Micromax Canvas 2 “priced at Rs 10,499 with average features.

New Micro battery, power packed for high performance

For a size of a few millimetres, the new micro-batteries are powerful enough to jump start a car battery and then quickly charge the cell phone. Researchers from the University of Illinois have developed the micro batteries which can be used to drive compact electronic devices and new applications for radio communications. The micro batteries are so good that they can even out power the super capacitors. The results were published in ‘Nature Communications’ in the April 16 issue. The micro batteries have energy and power and with the researchers tweaking the structure of the micro batteries a little bit, its use can be for wide range applications.

The high performance of the micro battery is based on its 3-dimensional micro-structure.
